One of the easiest ways to stand out in your basketball tryouts and practices this year is going to be your physical condition. If you are the best conditioned player on the floor in tryouts and practice it will not go unnoticed by your coaches and teammates.
Physical condition in the form of endurance, stamina, and wind when it comes to running will be one of the best ways to separate yourself from the rest of the players. When coaches see that you are in excellent shape they will take your game more serious and really start to believe that you care about basketball and want to become a successful player.
Staying in great running shape takes a lot of hard work and commitment because the majority of basketball players I know don’t enjoy going out and running. For most people it is boring, hard to do, and does not have immediate rewards. However staying in great condition is a great long term solution.
When you don’t have to worry about getting in shape but rather maintaining your condition then you are in a position to improve your weaknesses and other aspects of your game. But if all you can focus on is how tired you are then it will be tough to improve on anything else until you are back in shape.
Thanks for your attention!
